It’s funny because marketing people like to stress things like “it’s how people connect”. Nah it’s not. Everyone who ever upgraded their PC or MacBook got excited about the new tech - the better GPU, more efficiency, better screen and refresh rate, faster USB ports, the new M1 architecture etc.

Nobody ever said “I can’t wait to upgrade for the new FaceTime feature”. The stuff that connects you to people is largely software. And if anything hardware people upgrade for is gaming and other heavy tasks like CGI, not social connectivity stuff.
